BRENHAM CHRISTMAS STROLL THIS WEEKEND

  

Downtown Brenham is celebrating the season this weekend as they host the annual Christmas Stoll and Lighted Parade.

Events kick off Friday at 5:30 with the lighting of the Christmas tree and caroling on the Courthouse Square.

Stores will be open late for holiday shopping along the lighted downtown streets and the Tuba Christmas concert will take place at 6:30 at Baylor St., between Alamo and Main.

There will also be rides on the city’s 1950 Invader fire truck.

At 7:00, the holiday favorite, “The Polar Express” will be show at the historic Simon Theatre at the Barnhill Center.

Saturday kicks off with Breakfast with Santa, with two sessions: at 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. at Must Be Heaven.

Sip, Shop and Stroll will take place throughout the day in downtown Brenham.  There will be live entertainment at the Courthouse Gazebo.  The Jingle Bell Market will be open at the Ant Street Inn.

A new attraction this year is a 30-foot Everest Climb and Slide.  Kids and adults can scale to the top then slide down the winding slopes.

The holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be shown at the Simon Theatre at 2:00 p.m.

The annual Brenham Christmas Lighted Parade is set to begin tomorrow (Saturday) night  at 6:00 p.m. and wind through downtown Brenham.  KWHI will have live coverage of the parade, beginning at 5:45.

Following the parade, kids can sit with Santa in Alamo Alley, there will be barrel train rides, The Blues Grooves will play at the Gazebo and there will be late shopping available in the downtown stores.
