BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS BUSY WEEKEND

The Brenham Fire Department had a busy weekend, including a car fire, vehicle accident and two reported structure fires.

At 12:16 p.m. Saturday the Gay Hill Fire Department requested mutual aid from Brenham for a report of a structure fire at AAA Self Storage and U-Haul Truck Rental at 4205 State Highway 36 North.  While enroute, Brenham firemen were notified that Gay Hill units were on the scene, and the fire was contained to a dumpster.

At 2:36 Saturday afternoon, the Brenham Fire Department was called to a report of a vehicle crash at 2305 FM 50 just northwest of State Highway 105.  Upon arrival firemen used dry absorbent to clean up a small spill of fluids that had leaked from a vehicle.

At 3:24 Sunday morning, firemen responded to an engine fire in a car at 110 Brooks Lane off Old Chappell Hill Road in Brenham.  Water was used to extinguish the fire in the engine compartment of the car, which was towed from the scene.

And Sunday evening at 6:27 the Fire Department was dispatched to another reported structure fire.  When they arrived at 614 South Market Street they found someone barbecuing on a porch….and all units return to the station.
