DERAMUS TO ADDRESS BRENHAM EVENING LIONS CLUB TUESDAY

  

The Brenham Evening Lions Club will present a program by Kevin Deramus, EMS director of Washington County EMS tomorrow (Tuesday) March 17th at 7:00pm at the Cannery Kitchen.

Deramus began his career at the EMS in 1993 after attending EMT School at Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore. After that he attended the Texas A&M/Scott & White Paramedic Program, where he graduated and became licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a paramedic in 1994.

Kevin has over 18 year’s experience in nearly all aspects of the EMS, and in 1996, he was promoted to captain, where he served as the department’s first field training officer for six years until being promoted to the Clinical Operations Manager.

Between 1998 and 2003, Deramus served as flight paramedic for Scott & white STATE Air, and served as an adjunct instructor for Blinn College Paramedics.

Deramus currently serves on numerous local, regional, and state committee such as the Homeland Security Advisory Committee for the Brazos Valley CDG, the Brazos Valley Regional Advisory Trauma Council, and was recently appointed to serve on the Governor’s EMS and Trauma Advisory Council EMS Subcommittee.

He has received numerous distinguished honors and awards throughout his career, being the first-ever recipient of the “Brazos Valley Regional Hero Award” in 1998, and was awarded “Outstanding Public Servant” in 2001.

Visitors are encouraged to attend, and other Lions Club members are encouraged to bring a guest.
