NAVASOTA ISD SELECTS INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT

  

The Navasota school board has appoint Ernest Ray Matthews interim superintendent.

Former superintendent Rory Gesch turned in his resignation July 15^th after he accepted an assistant superintendent position with the Alvin ISD.

Matthews has held three interim superintendent positions within the state, helping those districts through the selection and hiring process of a permanent applicant.

Gesch will continue with Navasota ISD in an advisory and consulting capacity through the budget process and beginning of the school year.

Matthews will assist the board during their search for a permanent superintendent during the following months.

Matthews is familiar with Grimes County, having been involved with the Iola school district on their administrative staff during the last school year.

Navasota residents will have a chance to meet Matthews during the NISD board meeting Monday night at 6:30 p.m.
