PANTHER ROLL INTO AREA PLAYOFFS, 18-0

The Burton Panthers scored three times in the first inning and never looked back, as they rolled over Hull-Daisetta, 18-0, Friday night.

The Panthers (19-9) scored three runs in the first, six in the second, five in the third and four in the fourth. In their run-rule victory.

Eight different Panthers had hits in the win, which sends Burton into the Area Playoffs against either Flatonia or Holland, next week.

Aaron Kohring wad dominant on the mound, as he yielded just one hit while striking out 13 in just four innings of work.  Jackson Kalkhake closed the game out with a scoreless fifth inning.

Leadoff hitter, Cash Callahan paced the Panthers’ offense with a double, home run, four runs scored and six runs batted in.  Tristan Brantley had a pair of hits, drove in three runs and scored twice, while Demonderick Winters drove home two runs with a first-inning double and Cade Weiss hit a two-run triple in the second.

The Panthers move on to the Area Round, next week, at a time and site to be determine.  The games can be heard on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
