SCHULENBURG FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND

  

Fayette County will be rollicking this weekend as Schulenburg Festival is set for this weekend at Wolters Park.

Events include a Chili Cookoff and the Fayette County Go Texas Open Barbeque Competition, Friday and Saturday.

A 5K Run-Walk is set for Saturday morning and mens’ and women’s softball tournaments open Friday night and run throughout the day Saturday and Sunday.

The CPRA/UPRA is set for Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 at the Rodeo Arena, east of the Pavilion.

The Lions’ Club Carnival opens at 5:00, Friday; 6:00, Saturday; and noon Sunday.  Wristbands for the carnival are $20 each Friday and Saturday, $15 on Sunday.

There will be continuous live entertainment, beginning Thursday night with The David Lewis Band at 7:30; Friday, The Hitmen at 6:30, Shenandoa at 8:30 and Mike Ryan at 10:30; Saturday features Los Kolaches at 12:30, Josh Tiemann Band at 4:00, Texas Unlimited Band at 7:30 and 11:30, and Sam Riggs at 9:30;  Sunday will include Texas Dream at 12:30 and Texas Unlimited Band at 4:00.

The Grand Festival Parade is set for Sunday morning at 11:00, from downtown to Wolters Park.
