LOCAL OFFICIALS TO ATTEND WASHINGTON COUNTY DAY IN AUSTIN TODAY

  

Today is Washington County Day at the State Capitol, and a contingent of dignitaries will be visiting the Texas Legislature, and is sponsored by Brenham National Bank and Germania Insurance.

Local dignitaries expected to attend will be Brenham Mayor Milton Tate, Burton Mayor Peggy Felder, Washington County Judge John Brieden, Blinn College Interim President Dr. Ana Guzman, and Washington County Chamber of Commerce Chairman Wesley Brinkmeyer.

Newly-elected District 13 State Representative Leighton Schubert will also attend.

Senator Lois Kolkhorst will open the session at 11am and will recognize the Washington County leaders, and a resolution about Washington County will be introduced.

As per tradition, Blue Bell Ice Cream will be served in a private reception for state senators and representatives, and Del Sol Food Co. will be presenting gifts of Briannas Salad Dressing.

Volunteers will deliver copies of Washington County’s “Top Legislative Priorities,” and an invitation to the Texas Independence Day Celebration at Washington-on-the Brazos, along with items from Blinn College, Brenham National Bank, Germania Insurance, and Volunteer Services Council.
