BLINN COLLEGE TO HOST FACULTY HIRING FAIR TODAY

Blinn College seeks exceptional part-time instructors to join its team in time for the Fall semester.

Blinn will host a faculty hiring fair from 5-8:30 p.m. today on both its Brenham and Bryan campuses. The fair will be held in the Barbara L. Pearson Banquet Room located in the Bryan campus Student Center and the Janis Sneed Banquet Room in the Brenham campus Student Center.

Blinn is especially seeking part-time faculty, with particular demand for history, government, accounting, economics and speech instructors. Most positions require a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the course discipline. For a complete list of job openings and credentialing guidelines, visit: www.blinn.edu/jobfair.

Faculty are encouraged to bring their resumes, letters of recommendation, copies of their unofficial transcripts and industry certifications (if appropriate). College representatives will be on hand to review applicant materials, assist with the online application process and answer questions.

Blinn enrolled a school-record 19,317 students last Fall and has experienced 37.5 percent growth since 2006. It recently announced the purchase of 94 acres in Bryan for the development of a second Bryan campus. In addition to campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg and Sealy, Blinn teaches online courses, dual credit for high schools and prepares students for quick employment through its career and technical certification programs.

In January, Blinn was recertified for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Community Engagement Classification, making it one of just 12 Texas colleges and universities to be recognized for its commitment to community service and civic responsibility.

In addition to the Carnegie Classification, Blinn has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll five of the last seven years, the highest accolade an educational institution can receive from the federal government for its commitment to service and civic engagement.
