LOCAL CELEBRATIONS ABOUND FOR FOURTH OF JULY

  

Parades, picnics and fireworks highlight a slew of local celebrations of America’s Independence Day, Tuesday.

The World Famous Chappell Hill Marching Kazoo Band.

The annual Fourth of July parade in Chappell Hill kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with live coverage with Holly Ryder on KWHI and kwhi.com.

State Representative Leighton Schubert will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal.

The Patriot Guard and the Washington County EMS Honor Guard will assist with opening ceremonies and the World Famous Marching Kazoo Band will be making their annual appearance. Any child wanting to join the kazoo band is welcome.All area veterans are invited to ride in the designated Veterans Floats, stationed at the corner of Poplar & Main Street.

The Round Top Fourth of July Parade

In Round Top, the oldest continuous Fourth of July celebration west of the Mississippi kicks off its 167th year with the firing of the Civil War cannon and the annual parade at 10:30.

Barbeque will be served at the Round Top Rifle Hall and there will be music, fun and games throughout the rest of the day.  Music will be provided by the Round Top Brass Band.

At 11:00, the Burton Community Center will host its 126th Annual Pork & Beef Barbeque Picnic.

The meal will be served from 11:00-to-1:30.  There will be a live auction at noon, silent auction until 2:00, and bingo from 1:00-to-5:00,

Cactus Ken of KTEX-106 will be broadcasting live from both Round Top and Burton.

The Kenny Agriculture Hall will be hosting its annual celebration, Tuesday.  There will be barbequed beef, pork and mutton as well as a cake walk, auction, kids games, a petting zoo and entertainment.

The Annual Independence Fourth of July celebration gets underway at 1:00 with a trail ride.  The Red, White & Blue water balloon fight begins at 3:30, and the parade begins at 5:00 p.m.

A street dance begins at 5:30 with music from the Risky Liver Band and the night caps off with fireworks at 9:30.  Blake will be broadcasting on KTEX-106.
