COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS FM-109 RR “QUIET ZONE”
Washington County commissioners will discuss their part in making the crossing at FM-109 in Brenham a Railroad Quiet Zone when they meet Tuesday morning.
Thursday, the Brenham City Council approved their part of the process in this joint venture with TxDOT and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
An accident at the crossing in March of this year damaged the signals and BNSF has replaced them with new signals meeting the Quiet Zone requirements.
If approved, the project is expected to be completed in 6 to 7 months.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the commissioners will oversee a presentation of the Texas Historical Commission’s Distinguished Service Award to the Washington County Historical Commission.
County Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9:00 in room 103 of the Washington County Courthouse.
