PLANNED POWER OUTAGE FOR WESTERN WASHINGTON CO. WEDNESDAY

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members in western Washington County will experience temporary power outages Wednesday, March 21, as crews complete an upgrade to electric distribution lines. The upgrade will increase the voltage carried through the power lines and is needed to continue reliably serving a growing number of homes in the area.

Bluebonnet will interrupt power between 9 and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, to about 1,050 members in Washington County, near the towns of Burton and Carmine.

“Safety is our top priority on every job,” said Matt Bentke, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “We will have about 100 Bluebonnet employees and contractors, and about 40 vehicles in the area working to complete this conversion with as little impact on our members as possible. We take every precaution possible to make these jobs safe, and ask that residents in the area be cautious and aware of our crews.”

The planned outage will affect members on or near U.S. Highway 290, Old Mill Creek Road, South Brazos Street, South Main Street, East Branch Street, East Hickory Street, Boehnemann Road, Mulberry Street, Whitener Lane, Oevermann Road, Lomax Harmel Road, Nixon Lake Road, Sandstone Road, FM 169, Wildlife Circle, Willie Hinze Road, Hartstack Road, Sandtown Road, Koether Road, Schoenemann Road, CR 131 and FM 180.

Bluebonnet will also call every member who will be affected by the outage to inform them of the day and period of time they will be without power.
