NAVASOTA MAN FACES GUN CHARGE

(Brazos Co. Jail)
A Navasota man was arrested this weekend in Brazos County, after authorities say he threatened a man with a gun before firing it in the air.
According to the Brazos County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded Saturday morning, around 1 a.m. after receiving a report of a disturbance.
A man at the scene said he was threatened by 21-year-old Jerardo Gonzalez of Navasota, who he says was armed a pistol.
The man said he was leaving his property when Gonzalez approached and pointed his gun. The victim says Gonzalez then hit his passenger-side window with the gun before firing three rounds into the air.
Authorities say three shell casings were found near the entrance of the property.
Gonzalez is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He is being held in the Brazos County Jail on $25,000 bond.
