WASHINGTON CO. S.O. ASKING FOR HELP IN A.T.V. THEFTS
The Washington County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in trying to solve a local theft.
According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, back on April 18th, deputies responded to the 11000 block of Mertins Creek Road in reference to the theft of two four- wheelers.
The ATV’s were taken between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, as the suspects cut several fences, taking the ATV’s out of the back of the property until reaching Hale Branch road.
Last week, one of the two ATV’s was recovered by Deputies on Sweed Road near Conner Road, when a citizen observed the ATV pushed off of the roadway and into a thick area of woods in an attempt to conceal it. The second ATV was recovered this Monday, when it was discovered hidden in a field off of Pickens Road.
No arrest has been made and there is an on-going investigation. Should anyone have information leading to the identity of the suspect or suspects, they are asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 979-836-TIPS (8477).
