BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO CONTINUE WATER WELL DISCUSSION
The Burton City Council will continue collecting information on the possible drilling of a backup water well at Tuesday’s meeting.
Councilmembers will meet with Weisinger Inc., a contracting company out of Willis, and continue discussion. Last month, the council met with J&S Water Wells of Bellville and Harkness Engineering of Houston.
At that meeting, the two companies gave their input on how the old well at Washington and North Brazos Streets might have collapsed, saying corrosion was the most likely cause.
Burton City Secretary Angela Weyand has stated that the council is merely gathering information, and it is not ready to begin requesting bids.
In other items, the council will consider repairing or replacing the Knittel Lift Station pump. In addition, the council will potentially change its monthly meeting night to the second Tuesday of the month, beginning January of 2019.
The council will also look over a series of financial and department reports.
The council will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., at Burton City Hall.
