REP. LEMAN NAMED TO THREE HOUSE COMMITTEES
State Representative Ben Leman has been appointed to a trio of House committees.
Leman was appointed Wednesday to the Transportation, Land and Resource, and Redistricting committees by House Speaker Dennis Bonnen.

(R-Anderson)
Leman, who represents District 13, said he is very excited to have been appointed to these committees, saying each one has a unique impact to his district.
Leman said, by serving on these committees, he will look to maintain transportation infrastructure, preserve private property rights, and make sure rural Texans have their voice heard in the redistricting process.
The Transportation Committee presides over matters dealing with commercial motor vehicles, state highways, railroads and airways. In addition, the committee has oversight on state agencies such as the Texas Transportation Commission, Department of Motor Vehicles, and Department of Transportation.
The Land and Resource Management Committee has jurisdiction over public land matters, including power of eminent domain, creation and regulation of municipal utility districts, and oversight of the School Land Board, Board for Lease of University Lands, and the General Land Office.
The Redistricting Committee deals with the matters of legislative and congressional districts, including establishing districts to elect officials, governing bodies or state agencies.
Leman said each of these committees will let him bring meaningful change for his district, as well as be a “better champion of the needs of rural Texas”.
