OVER 60 ADOPTIONS DURING CLEAR THE SHELTERS MONTH AT BRENHAM PET ADOPTION CENTER; FREE ADOPTIONS THROUGH TUESDAY

  

Brenham Animal Services helped numerous pets find new forever homes during its annual Clear the Shelters adoption drive.

Animal Services Manager Megan Gray says the Brenham Pet Adoption Center has had 61 animal adoptions during the month of August, including 38 cats, 22 dogs and one rat.  Of that total, 17 animals were adopted during the main Clear the Shelters event on Saturday, including 13 cats and three dogs, plus a fourth dog who needs some dental cleaning before she goes home.

Gray says all adopters are given tips and information on how to introduce their new pet into their new home comfortably, and what to look for as pets acclimate to their surroundings.

Brenham Animal Services will extend its free adoptions through tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6 p.m.

Gray thanks all of those who came out and supported the Brenham Pet Adoption Center on Saturday for the event. 

Gray says to be on the lookout for Brenham Animal Services at the First Friday Farmer and Artisan Market in October, as well as the Chappell Hill Scarecrow Music Festival.  Brenham Animal Services will also be involved in Brazos Valley Gives, and it will be re-starting its Trap-Neuter-Release program in October for feral cats.
