CITY OF BRENHAM BEGINNING RECONSTRUCTION ON SEVERAL STREETS MONDAY

Starting today (Monday), the City of Brenham Street Department will begin reconstruction on Cedar, Mary Gene, and Sandy Streets.

Reconstruction will last for approximately three weeks, weather permitting, and will be done in phases throughout the time period.

This reconstruction will involve tilling up the existing roadway, grading the sub-base and adding bulk cement to stabilize the sub-base.  After cement is applied, a 2-inch asphalt layer will be added to the new roadbed.

During the time of construction, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., sections of the streets will be limited to vehicular traffic throughout the work zones.  City staff will work with residents to get access to residences throughout this process.
