HOUSTON MAN SENTENCED IN BRENHAM TO THREE YEARS

A Houston man has been sentenced to three years in prison on a local Evading Arrest/Detention charge.

26-year old Ricky Lee Perez was found guilty back in January in 21st District Court.  Thursday, Judge Carson Campbell sentenced Perez to three years.

Perez was arrested in June of 2017, following an accident on Highway 290.  He fled the scene and eluded authorities, only to wreck his motorcycle on West Alamo St.  He was captured after a brief foot chase.

Tevin Devault (Washington Co. Jail)

Also in Thursday’s District Court, 20-year old Tevin Leondrick Devault of Somerville was sentenced to three years for Second Degree Felony—Burglary of a Habitation.

Devault was arrested last May on a number of felony charges, including the burglary of a residence on William Penn Road, May 22nd.  A number of firearms were stolen in the burglary.

He was eventually captured at a home in Clay, by Burleson County Sheriff’s Deptuies.

Also in District Court:

31-year old Richard Anthanoe Carrias, of Industry, was sentenced to two year in prison for Driving While Intoxicated with Child Under 15 – a State Jail Felony.

Carrias, who was arrested in November of 2017, was also fine $1000 and ordered to perform 120 hours of community service.

27-year old James Arthur Wilson, of Hempstead, was sentenced to six years in prison for Burglary of a Habitation – a Second Degree Felony.  Wilson was arrested in January of this year.

26-year old Taylor Grzyb (guh-shib) of Tyler, was placed on six years’ probation for Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information – a Third Degree Felony.  He was also fine $500.

39-year old Kristy Ann Byer of Bryan was placed on five years’ probation for a 2017 arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Byer was also ordered to 200 hours of community service.

25-year old Brittney Leann Guthrie of Brenham, received four years’ probation for Theft of Property/Between $2500-and-$30,000.  Guthrie was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service and pay $7258 in restitution.
