BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO NINE CALLS OVER THE WEEKEND
The Brenham Fire Department responded to nine calls over the weekend.
The first call came in Saturday morning just before 9am. Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a gas leak on the 600 block of Janet Street. The odor of gas was detected in the air. FD units stayed on location until the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived.
The second call came in around 2:45pm on the 2200 block of Century Circle. Brenham FD units were dispatched for a fire alarm sounding. They arrived on the scene and assisted the keyholder with the alarm system, and then returned to service.
They were then called back to the same location at 7:20pm, because the alarm was going off again, but were cancelled en route.
Brenham Firefighters were dispatched to the 700 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. for a report of a gas leak. FD units arrived on scene and found the odor of gas in the house. They remained on scene until the Gas Department arrived.
The final call on Saturday came in just before 11pm at the 1300 Block of East Blue Bell Road. Firefighters arrived on location and determined that the alarm was set off by a fog machine that was being used for an event at the location.
Brenham FD Units were dispatched twice on Sunday morning to the Brenham State Supported Living Center for malfunctioning alarms. The first call came in just before 4am, while the other was at 7:15am.
Then, just before 6pm, Brenham Firefighters went to the 3000 block of Shadow Lawn Street for a reported gas leak. Units arrived on scene to find the odor of gas coming from the meter. They stayed until the Gas Department arrived.
The final call came in just after 10pm to the 1100 block of West Jefferson Street for a smoke investigation. FD units discovered an electrical issue with the service line to the house. Firefighters remained on scene until the City of Brenham Electrical Department arrived on location.
