TWO PLEAD GULITY IN DEATH OF ROCKDALE MOTHER

A Caldwell man is one of two people who have pleaded guilty to murder Thursday in Milam County.
32-year old Edward Brannon Barry of Caldwell and 32-year old Candice Nicole Jones of Rockdale were both charged with the revenge slaying of a Rockdale woman in 2017.

Both entered guilty pleas Thursday morning in 20th District Court in Cameron, waiving their rights to appeal.
The two were charged in the January 2017 death of 34-year old Emily Hacker, whose body was found in a shallow grave 10 days after she disappeared.
Affidavits issued in the case show the likely motive for the killing was revenge for Jones being implicated by Hacker on a gun possession charge.
Three other suspects were also charged in connection with the murder.
Prosecutors are seeking 50-year sentences for both Barry and Jones.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled in July.
