FREE BLINN SBDC SEMINAR TO OFFER TIPS FOR IDENTITY PROTECTION

The Blinn College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a free seminar in May to provide tips on protecting personal information and avoiding scams.

The seminar will be hosted on Thursday, May 9th from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the SBDC, at 108 Blinn Boulevard in Brenham.  The event will be instructed by Lauren Galley, Regional Director for the Better Business Bureau.

Participants will learn how to recognize the first signs of identity theft and other scams, and how to use the Better Business Bureau’s Scam Tracker to discover the scams most prevalent locally.

The Blinn College SBDC is a business advising and training center of the University of Houston Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network, serving 32 counties in southeast Texas.  The SBDC program is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Adminstration.
