NEWLY INSTALLED ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION ACROSS FROM BRENHAM CITY HALL

Brenham now has three electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the city.

Coach Light Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and now downtown Brenham on West Vulcan Street have EV charging stations.

According to Assistant City Manager Lowell Ogle, Brenham Public Utilities installed the charging station across from City Hall to “promote the use of alternative fuel vehicles as well as promote Brenham’s historic downtown”.

Ogle said this will be “another amenity to offer our citizens and visitors”.

Update @ 12:40 p.m.: The electric car charging stations are free, according to City of Brenham Communication Manager Melinda Gordon.

Visitors to Brenham can charge their vehicle while shopping, dining, or sightseeing, then have enough juice to get to their next stop.

Anyone travelling Highway 290 can also use the charging stations, and maybe even see what downtown Brenham has to offer in the meantime.

  1. I agree with you totally Steve, my light bill is probably going to be a little higher every month. Thanks !

  2. I am not a city of Brenham tax payer. So let me get this straight city of Brenham now offers free of charge a charge for vehicles that do not pay fuel taxes of any kind only registration tax. Who authorized that perk? Not that hard to put a meter on the device.

  3. Technology. It’ll be like in the old days with all the horses tied at the hitchin post. That’s pretty cool. Now if yall were to put one a those stations in with just a regular extension cord to plug my diesel in during winter time, THAT would be AWESOME!

  4. Does this work on all vehicles, including Dodge Hemis? Does this adapt to all cord and socket plug-ins? Thanks!
