BLUEBONNET TO UPGRADE POWER LINES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON CO. WEDNESDAY; SOME WILL EXPERIENCE OUTAGES

Certain Bluebonnet Electric members in western Washington County will be without power for a short time Wednesday, as crews work on upgrading power lines.

Members near Burton, Greenvine, and Latium will be affected Wednesday morning and afternoon, as a pair of planned outages are scheduled.

Power will be interrupted between 9 and 10:30 a.m. to about 200 members near FM 2502, FM 389, Brandt Road, Bednar Lane, Brice Lane, Grote Road, Sawmill Road, Sacred Heart Road, Serenity Lane, and Rolling Creek Road.

The second outage will occur between 1 and 2:30 p.m., and will affect about 100 members near FM 2502, FM 389, Eckermann Road, Horak Road, Latium Cemetery Road, Sawmill Road, and Wagner Road.

Bluebonnet General Manager Matt Bentke said there will be more than 110 employees and contractors in the area, along with roughly 60 vehicles, working to complete the conversion with minimal impact to members. Bentke said Bluebonnet takes all possible precautions to make these jobs safe, and asks that area residents be cautious and aware of work crews.

Bluebonnet will also call every member who will be affected by the outage to inform them of the length of time they will be without power.

The power line upgrades will increase the voltage carried through the lines. Bluebonnet officials say these upgrades are needed to serve the growing demand for electricity in the area.
