CHAPPELL HILL PREPARING TO HOLD ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY PARADE

  

It’s only June, but Chappell Hill is gearing up for one of the “biggest small-town parades” in Texas as they host their 43rdAnnual Independence Day Parade.

This year’s theme is “Chappell Hill – 172: Forever Red, White & Blue” as they are celebrating the 172ndbirthday of the town.

Larry Neveux, a Veteran of the United States Air Force, will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. The parade will feature the “World Famous Marching Kazoo Band”, complete with kazoos and drums made from Blue Bell Ice Cream containers. Any child wanting to join the kazoo band is encouraged to sign up ahead of time.

Some of the other attractions will include the “Cool Rods Car Show”, and a performance from John Beland.

The Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce is also auctioning off the opportunity for someone to be the “Official Parade Gunner”. The bid this year starts at $200, and bidding is open now through Sunday, June 30that 5 p.m. The winning bid will be announced Monday, July 1st.
