GRIMES CO. AUTHORITIES MAKE DRUG ARREST ON DEALER IN NAVASOTA HOTEL

  

A Sugarland man has been handed several felony drug possession charges, after a drug bust at a Navasota hotel.

According to Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt, Navasota and Grimes County authorities conducted surveillance at the Navasota Inn Monday morning, after receiving complaints of suspected drug activity there.

At the inn, officers and Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputies set up a buy-and-bust operation, locating 61-year-old Steven Blankenship.  After receiving consent to search his vehicle, they found over $3,000 in cash, over five ounces of marijuana in sealed baggies, around 2,000 milligrams of THC oil, Adderall pills and Viagra.

Blankenship was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.  He remains in the Grimes County Jail on $23,500 bond.
