TWO KILLED IN MORNING CRASHES ON HIGHWAY 105 NEAR GRIMES-MONTGOMERY CO.

  

Two people are dead after a pair of crashes this (Thursday) morning near the Grimes and Montgomery County line on Highway 105.

According to DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan, the first accident occurred around 6 a.m. near Plantersville, when a pickup truck headed east on Highway 105 tried to pass a dump truck east of County Road 204, in a no-passing zone.  The passing truck collided with another pickup going west.

The driver of the passing truck, 27-year-old Andrew Young of Waller, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the other truck was taken to Conroe Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Another accident occurred just a few hours later around 9 a.m. on Highway 105, west of County Road 204.  According to Sgt. Morgan, congestion from the first accident resulted in an eastbound pickup crashing into the back of a stopped van.

The driver of the truck, 35-year-old Kayleen Pawlak of College Station, was killed.  Sgt. Morgan said the driver of the van was not transported for injuries.
