DEADLINE FRIDAY TO TURN IN ENTRIES FOR CHAPPELL HILL SCARECROW CONTEST
Today (Friday) is the last day to submit entries for the annual Chappell Hill Scarecrow Contest.
Chappell Hill residents are encouraged to participate in the contest, celebrating the arrival of autumn and the upcoming Scarecrow Festival, to be held October 12th and 13th.
Entry forms are available at the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum, located at 9220 Poplar Street. They can be dropped off at the Museum, or emailed to chappellhillmuseum@gmail.com.
Scarecrows need to be displayed by Tuesday, and judging will be held next Saturday, October 5th.
Prizes will be awarded in the Residents/Business and Children’s Categories. Residents and businesses are eligible to win first, second, and third place prizes of $100, $75, and $50. Children can win prizes of $50, $25, and $15.
After all entries are submitted, the Historical Society will provide a list of all the entries at its office and on its website, www.chappellhillhistoricalsociety.com, so people can find the locations of all the scarecrows.
