PARENT UNIVERSITY TUESDAY NIGHT POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

  

Update @ 1:25 p.m.: Parent University has been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather.  The event will be rescheduled for a later date.

Original Story @ 6:44 a.m.: Brenham ISD parents will have the chance to go back to school tonight (Tuesday).

The 2nd Parent University, being held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Brenham Junior High School Auditorium, will offer parents the opportunity to increase their involvement in public schools.

Parent University aims to provide knowledge and strategies that parents can use to enhance their role as student advocates, and provide emotional support throughout their child’s educational years.

Three topics will be covered by special guest speakers:

  • Dangers and Information on Vaping, Brenham High School Resource Officer Lance Weiss
  • Handling Peer Pressure and Bullying, Brenham ISD Social Emotional Coordinators Shawn Mays and Rebecca Wachsler
  • TED Talk on Parenting Best Practices, F.A.M.E. Liaison Karem Chandler

Childcare will be provided, and refreshments will be available from Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant.
