TWO BURTON RESIDENTS KILLED IN CRASH ON HIGHWAY 21 IN BRAZOS CO.

  

An elderly Burton couple was killed Monday night in a crash with an 18-wheeler in west Brazos County.

Police say the crash happened just after 6:30 p.m., when a 2013 Lexus pulled out in front of a semi-truck on State Highway 21 at OSR.

The driver and backseat passenger in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.  They were identified as 81-year-old James William Bacak and 80-year-old Irene Bacak.  The passenger in the front seat, a 66-year-old male relative, was taken to CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured, and is cooperating fully in the investigation.
