BRENHAM F.D. PUTS OUT EARLY-MORNING GARAGE FIRE

  

The Brenham Fire Department was able to contain an early-morning fire to a garage a home northeast of town.

Just after 2:00 a.m. firefighters were called out to a garage on fire in the 300 block of Shed Johnson Lane, near Alois Lane.

The department arrived at the scene and found a detached carport on fire.

They extinguished fire and damage was confined only to the detached garage.  No one was injured.

Earlier, Monday afternoon, the department was called out to a one-vehicle accident on Highway 105 near Washington-on-the-Brazos.

Just after 4:00 p.m., firefighters responded to the 18,000 block of 105, where they found a vehicle off the roadway stuck in thick brush.

The department used a chain saw to cut brush so th victim could be get out of vehicle.  No injuries were reported.
