CITY OF BRENHAM WARNING OF WATER TEST SCAM OCCURRING IN SURROUNDING CITIES

  

The City of Brenham is warning residents of a new scam being encountered by residents of other Texas cities regarding water testing in homes.

City officials said in a release Wednesday that the suspicious activity includes individuals attempting to gain access to resident’s homes to test their water for COVID-19, and then asking them to fill out a form which includes personal information like social security numbers.

While city and Washington County officials say there is no report or indication this is currently happening in the area, City Manager James Fisher is still urging caution.

 

Fisher encouraged anyone who is approached with suspicious activity like this or experiences a scam similar to this to call 911.
