GREENARD SIGNS ROOKIE DEAL WITH TEXANS

Texans third-round draft pick Jonathan Greenard has agreed to a four-year deal with the team.

Greenard (6'3", 265) is expected to contribute to the Texans' pass rush, which ranked toward the bottom of the league in 2019.

As a graduate transfer at Florida last season, Greenard was first-team All-SEC as he led the conference with 9.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss.  He also also posted 52 total tackles, an interception, four pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.

At Louisville in 2018, Greenard suffered a season-ending right wrist injury in the opener and then decided to transfer to Florida as a graduate student.

Greenard, a third-round pick by the Texans, will play behind veteran outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett this season.
