ZYTHOLOGICAL SOCIETY LAUNCHING INAUGURAL “BREWS OVER TEXAS” HOMEBREW COMPETITION SERIES

The Texas Chapter of the Zythological Society of North America has announced its first-ever homebrew competition series, called “Brews over Texas”.

Homebrewers are invited to put their beers to the test in a series of four competitions over the next year, culminating in a Grand Champion being crowned at the 2021 Brenham Maifest.  Homebrewers will earn points depending on their placing in each event, with cash prizes and medals for winners.

The series is tentatively set to begin with the Suds in the Valley event at the Brazos Valley Brewing Company in Brenham August 1st, but it may change due to current COVID-19 restrictions set forth by Governor Greg Abbott.

The second event in the series, Boot Scootin’ Brews, will take place at the Austin County Fair in Bellville October 3rd.

A to-be-determined event is slated for early 2021, with the series wrapping up May 1, 2021 with Meister von Bier during the Brenham Maifest.

Entry fees are $10 for one brew, and $5 for each additional brew.  Entry forms and contest rules are available online at www.zythological.com.
