SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES BOOKINGS FOR DWI, MARIJUANA POSSESSION, TRAFFIC CHARGES
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported three arrests on Saturday.
Around 7:45 a.m., Sergeant Adam Zavala conducted a traffic stop for no seat belt at East Main and Baylor Streets. The driver, 57-year-old George Humberto Rodriguez of Houston, was found to have an active warrant in Harris County and was taken into custody. Rodriguez was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More.
Around 4:15 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 8300 block of Highway 105. One of the parties stated to be involved had left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, but was later located. The individual reportedly displayed signs of intoxication and a field sobriety test was conducted. 30-year-old Zachary Smith of Bryan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
Shortly after 11:15 p.m., Sergeant Fay Janes-Busse initiated a traffic stop at Highway 290 East and FM 1371 for a defective headlamp and defective license plate light. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies detected an odor of marijuana and located a blunt during a search of the vehicle. The driver was said to be operating the vehicle with an invalid license and no insurance and was found to have two active warrants. 20-year-old Vantrasia Rashon Lovings of Brenham was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where she was booked for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., Running a Stop Sign, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
