At 10 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a reported crash with entrapment at Highway 290 East and FM 1371.  They found a single vehicle that had rolled multiple times into the ditch, but the occupant was not entrapped.

Photos shared by the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department show a medical helicopter was called to the scene.

Firefighters assisted Washington County EMS with patient care and removal until the patient was transported.  Further details on the patient’s condition were not immediately available.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three other calls between Friday and Saturday.

At 10:30 a.m. Friday, firefighters went out to a reported gas leak in the 1300 block of Allison Street after a utility boring crew struck a natural gas line.  The fire department secured the area, monitored gas conditions and stood by while the gas department clamped the damaged line.  A hose line was deployed to protect nearby exposures in the event of ignition.  No injuries were reported, and the scene was turned over to the gas department once the leak was controlled.

At 8:15 a.m. Saturday, units were called out for a downed power line in the 300 block of Kerr Street.  They secured the area until the City of Brenham Electric Department removed the line from the roadway.

At 5 p.m., BFD personnel responded to a crash in the 1100 block of North Park Street.  Crews arrived on location and provided traffic control until the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
