ASTROS FALL TO DODGERS; RANGERS RALLY TO BEAT D’BACKS
The Astros dropped a tough one at home to the Dodgers in extra innings, Wednesday night.
Los Angeles got a two run homer from Edwin Rios in the 13th and held on for a 4-2 win at Minute Maid Park.
The game went to extra innings tied at 1-1. The Dodgers scored in the 11th, but the Astros responded with the tying run a Carlos Correa single, but stranded the winning run at third.
Los Angeles took the lead back in the 13th on Rios’ homer. Houston could not score in the bottom of the inning, and giving the Dodgers the two-game sweep.
Cy Sneed (0-1) took the loss for the Astros, yielding Rios’ homer after two innings of scoreless relief.
The Astros have Thursday off, as the travel to the west coast to open a three-game series at the Los Angeles Angels, Friday night at 8:10—7:36 Astro Launch on KWHI AM-1280 and FM 101.7.
The Rangers rallied for five runs in the bottom of the eighth to pick up their second win of the season, 7-4 over Arizona.
Texas trailed 4-2, when Joey Gallo tied the game with a two-run shot. The Rangers then took the lead on Elvis Andrus’ two-run single that scored Todd Frazier and Ian Kainer-Falefa. Texas added one more run on a Nick Solak single.
Nick Goody retired the D’Backs in order in the ninth to pick up his first save. Jonathan Hernandez got the win.
The Rangers are off Thursday as they travel to San Francisco for a weekend series against the Giants.
