A College Station man has pleaded guilty to child pornography and enticement charges.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 35-year old Ryan Dale McWhorter has entered a guilty plea to coercion and enticement as well as receipt and possession of child pornography.

According to U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Patrick, McWhorter admitted to participating in a chat group dedicated to the sexual exploitation of children.

There, he began communicating with someone he believed to be the stepfather of a 9-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover law enforcement officer.

McWhorter allegedly discussed intentions to travel to Florida in order to have sex with the child.

Law enforcement eventually seized his cellphone, which revealed numerous explicit images of children pornography.

McWhorter has been in custody since he was found to be a flight risk and a danger to the community. He will remain there pending his sentencing, which is set for Nov. 16.  At that time, McWhorter faces up to life in prison.  He could also be ordered to pay up to a $250,000 fine.

  1. LOCK HIM UP! There is something devilish, evil and mentally deficient about a man or woman wanting to engage in sexual relations with a minor (9 years old!). These people are sick! Sick people should not be allowed to walk around in public. His kind is a menace to society!
