FALL VERSION OF “HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES” KICKS OFF SATURDAY WITH THE DAMN TORPEDOES
After a long wait, the City of Brenham’s “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” concert series is finally coming to downtown Brenham.
The popular concert series launches this weekend after being postponed from the summer due to COVID-19. The cooler October weather will be a welcome change for many as the series begins Saturday with a group dedicated to recreating the look and sound of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: The Damn Torpedoes.
Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke says the city is thankful for the community’s continued backing and patience throughout the event-planning process, and hopes to reward them with a jam-packed October.
This weekend’s performance is sponsored by Ant Street Inn, Associated Credit Union of Texas, Strand Associates, and Independence Coffee Company.
This month’s free concerts will be held October 10th, 16th, 17th, and 24th, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. They will all take place in the Commerce Street parking lot in order to allow for more space to spread out attendees. Families are invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy refreshments from food and drink vendors.
Signage will be placed in downtown promoting preventative COVID-19 measures to attendees and reminding them to socially distance. Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the concert area.
