LOCAL FIRST RESPONDERS PREPARING FOR NATIONAL NIGHT OUT TUESDAY

Area law enforcement officials and first responders are getting ready to meet with the community in another year of National Night Out.

The annual celebration of National Night Out, which looks to strengthen the relationship between neighbors and first responders, is set for tonight (Tuesday) from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Due to COVID-19, some neighboring agencies will observe National Night Out using methods other than the traditional block party format.  However, Washington County’s celebration will still consist of block parties.

This year’s theme will be Hometown Heroes, in honor of all of those who have helped the residents of Washington County work through the pandemic.  Authorities encourage all who are looking to take part in the event to be mindful of social distancing and self-protection as society continues to work through COVID-19.

KWHI and KTEX-106 will also be out and about, traveling to area parties throughout the evening.  If you would like us to stop by your party, call our office at 979-836-3655.
