NAVASOTA ISD MOVING TO REMOTE LEARNING THIS WEEK

Students in Navasota ISD will learn remotely this week following a “sharp increase” in COVID-19 cases and exposures.

In an announcement Sunday, Navasota ISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick said the district began to notice an increase in lab confirmed cases, reports of symptoms, and close contacts this past Thursday.

Dr. Musick said the number of campus staff and teachers that are expected to be out this week made it “extremely difficult” to cover classes.

Student attendance checks and assignments will be required through their Google Classrooms.  All district staff that are not sick or in quarantine are asked to report to campus by 8 a.m. this (Monday) morning.

All high school students will be marked exempt from semester exams, but semester exam reviews will continue as scheduled and will be graded.  Students can choose to take the semester exam in January if the grade is needed for the student to receive credit for the course.  Teachers will work individually with students to schedule these exams in January.
