WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS HIRE NEW HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

Washington County Commissioners approved the hiring of a new Human Resources Director at their meeting today (Tuesday), their final meeting of 2020.

Commissioners moved to hire Dr. Teresa Sazedj for the position currently held by Darrell Reimer, who is retiring.  Reimer was hired by the county in August of 2012, and has had a 45-year career in human resources.

Reimer said while he has enjoyed his career, it is now time for him to devote more attention to his family after their years of support.

Reimer will train Dr. Sazedj in her new position before officially retiring.  He expects that will happen within the next 30 days.

Also at today’s meeting, commissioners rejected bids for the internal construction of the Washington County EMS hangar facility.

County Attorney Renee Mueller said the county was made aware that it needs to be more detailed in what materials it wanted to be used for construction, so more specific guidelines will be put into place to allow prospective bidders to more accurately bid on the project.

The court also:

  • Accepted and added .363 miles of Woodland Farms Lane in Woodland Farms of Chappell Hill, Section Two, intersecting with FM 1155 South, into the county road system.
  • Reappointed Sharon Stolz as Washington County Auditor.
  • Approved a master service interlocal agreement between the county and the Brazos Valley Council of Governments for broadband and internet services.
  • Approved formal notice from Suddenlink/Altice Cable for road bores and directional bores in Precinct Three for coaxial communications cable within the right of way of North Berlin Road, along with Rolling Valley Lane and Rolling Ridge Lane in the Rolling Ridge Estates subdivision.
