EARLY MORNING GRASS FIRE EXTINGUISHED

  

Firefighters from multiple departments combined to extinguish an early morning grass fire.

Shortly before 5:00 a.m., departments from Washington, Chappell Hill, Meyersville and Brenham were called out to 2051 FM 1155 East to a grass fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters report over an acre of land was involved.  Within an hour the departments, with help from other rural departments, had controlled the blaze.

Firefighters remained at the scene, making sure to extinguish any remaining 'hot spots'.

The extent of damage caused by the fire has not been determined.
