BRENHAM ISD STUDENTS RAISE OVER $1,000 FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL THROUGH ‘COIN WAR’
Brenham ISD students raised money to help children fighting cancer through a coin-collecting competition.
Students at Brenham Middle School were given seven “coin war” jars that represented their “house,” or classroom, with a goal of collecting as many pennies as possible.
Each penny donated to the jar earned one point. However, the game allowed middle schoolers to “sabotage” a different jar by adding a nickel, dime, or quarter to it, deducting points from that jar’s total.
The “coin war” lasted two weeks and raised a total of $1003.73 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
