WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO MULL ALLOCATING HOT FUNDS FOR BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL ADVERTISING
Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday to consider allocating Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds to help pay for advertising for the Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival.
The Chappell Hill Historical Society is requesting $9,000 to offset costs for advertisements in online and print publications, on the radio and on social media, as well as physical promotional materials like posters and banners.
The historical society says its advertising helps attract thousands of visitors to the area, supporting local businesses and hotels in the county throughout the weekend.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners will look to adopt a resolution authorizing submission of an application for the 2021-22 Texas Community Development Block Grant program. The court will also seek to adopt a citizen participation plan pertaining to the grant program.
Commissioners will also consider:
- Proclaiming April as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month and Fair Housing Month.
- Approving on-call pay for Washington County jailers.
- An emended and restated transmission facilities easement agreement and letter agreement involving Concho Valley Solar, LLC.
- Formal notices from AMP Texas Pipelines, LLC for natural gas pipelines on Hoddeville School Road and Wauls Legion Road in Precinct 3.
- A formal notice from GeoSouthern Chalk II, LLC for a temporary lay flat water line on Mayer Cemetery Road and Wickel Road in Precinct 4.
- Approving a new bond for reserve deputy sheriffs Jimmy Morgan and William Scott Atwood.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse Annex.
