BRYAN TEEN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH SHOOTING

  

 

A Bryan 14-year-old is in custody, charged with shooting another teen.

Bryan police were investigating the shooting that reportedly occurred Tuesday afternoon near Sandy Point Road and McCulloch Street.

According to the preliminary police report, a 16-year-old shooting victim walked from the area where he was shot to the 400 block of Harvey Street where he was located by police and paramedics.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and was rushed to St. Joseph Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Police say a stolen gun was also found.

  1. And even with all of these serious charges pending, if he is convicted, he would likely spend three to four years in a juvenile facility and then be released. I reiterate once again, why are lawmakers not concerned with changing the laws and increasing the penalties for such crimes, as statistics show these are ever-increasing?
