PURSUIT THROUGH COLORADO, FAYETTE COUNTIES ENDS WITH ARREST OF HOUSTON MAN

A multi-county pursuit that involved several law enforcement agencies ended with an arrest late Monday night in Fayette County.
At 11 p.m., the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Weimar Police Department with a pursuit that entered into Fayette County traveling west along I-10.
A Fayette County deputy deployed spikes and disabled the suspect’s vehicle, which stalled near the 661 milepost west of Flatonia.
According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, the driver was noncompliant and displayed a hatchet. As authorities were unsure if any firearms were in the vehicle, the Austin/Fayette County SRT team responded to the scene and deployed tear gas.
32-year-old Marco Antonio Nava of Houston was taken into custody by the Weimar Police Department and transported to the Colorado County Jail. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Harris County and is registered as a sex offender.
Other assisting agencies included the Schulenburg and Flatonia Police Departments and DPS.
