COLLEGE STATION MAN AT LARGE AFTER CHASE THROUGH GRIMES, BRAZOS COUNTIES
College Station police are searching for a man who they say led authorities on a high speed chase that began in Grimes County and ended in a local neighborhood.
Authorities attempted to stop 33-year-old Matthew Jarrett of College Station in Grimes County on Saturday, after he was seen driving a vehicle that they say was stolen. They also say Jarrett flashed a gun while driving.
Officials say Jarrett did not stop and sped north on Highway 6 into Brazos County at speeds of over 100 mph.
The chase ended around 8 p.m. in the Edelweiss neighborhood, near Graham Road and Brandenburg Lane. Police say Jarrett got out of the vehicle and was able to escape on foot.
Jarrett is described as a white male, 6’2” and 150 lbs. Police say he has distinguishable tattoos on his face and neck, including the phrase “Mamma Tried” over his eyebrows. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, gray shorts and a flat bill hat.
Jarrett is believed to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Jarrett is warned to not approach him, but call 911.
