VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE MONDAY FOR FALL ELECTIONS

  

Voters looking to participate in this fall’s elections have until next week to register to do so.

Monday is the last day to register to vote in the constitutional amendment election on November 2nd.  Burton residents also have until Monday to sign up to vote in Burton ISD’s bond election.

The last day to submit an application for a ballot by mail is Friday, October 22nd.  Early voting runs from October 18-29.

Eight constitutional amendments are on the ballot for voters this fall, covering topics such as religious freedom, property taxes and judicial eligibility.  Click here to view a sample ballot for the constitutional amendment election.

Early voting for the constitutional amendment election will be held at the Washington County Courthouse Annex.  Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from the 18th to the 22nd and from the 27th to the 29th.  Extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. will be offered on the 25th and 26th.

Eight locations will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the constitutional amendment election.  Those include Friedens Church of Washington and the Washington County Expo Event Center for Precinct 1 voters, the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Brenham VFW Hall for Precinct 2, the Brenham American Legion Hall and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill for Precinct 3, and the Blinn College Student Center and Burton Community Center for Precinct 4.

For the Burton ISD bond election, early voting will be held at the Burton High School Auditorium.  Hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from the 18th to the 21st, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 22nd, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 23rd and noon to 3 p.m. on the 24th.  The final week of early voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 25th, 27th and 29th and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 26th and 28th.

Polls on Election Day for the bond election will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill for Precinct 3 voters, and the Burton Community Center for all other eligible voters.
