During the UIL Regional Contest at Waller ISD Stadium, the Cubs earned first division ratings from all three judges.

This comes after the Cub Band was awarded third place among the competing 5A bands at the Vista Ridge Marching Contest on October 2nd.  The band’s score in preliminaries placed it in the top ten of all 23 bands, regardless of school size, and earned a spot in the finals where it finished ninth place overall.

On October 9th, the Cub Band performed in the Katy Marching Festival with 29 other marching bands from the Houston area.  The band advanced to the finals for the first time in its history since the introduction of the new prelims/finals format used in this festival.  Brenham finished ninth overall in its finals run against bands who were top ten prelims scorers, regardless of school size.  Bands from 4A, 5A and 6A schools competed in the festival.

The band will compete in the UIL area marching contest on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at Legacy Field in Katy.  If the Cubs earn one of the top seven scores out of the 18 participating bands, they will advance to the finals competition.
