RHEAD ROBBINS MEMORIAL FISHING TOURNAMENT SATURDAY
The memory of a 2019 Brenham High School graduate will be honored this weekend at the 2nd Annual Rhead Robbins Memorial Fishing Tournament.
The fundraiser will begin tomorrow (Saturday) morning at Wild Bill’s, just south of Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville. Robbins, who died in July 2019 in a car accident near Brenham, was an honor graduate and a member of the Cub football team.
Rhead’s mother, Tammy Robbins, says the event carries on Rhead’s spirit of service to the community.
Check-in for the tournament begins at 6:30 a.m., with weigh-in at 2:30 p.m.
Robert Zientek will perform live music from 3 to 6 p.m., and gumbo, sausage wraps and desserts will be served. There will also be a drawing, a silent auction and a cornhole tournament.
Entry into the tournament is $50 per team of two and $10 for ages 12 and under. Participants can sign up at the event.
Tammy says proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward scholarships for local and area students.
